Aechmea Blue Rain is a stunning bromeliad with broad glossy green leaves and a breathtaking inflorescence up to 50cm in length. At the top are blue and white flowers which contrast against the red stems. The flower spikes will last for many months and although the mother plant only blooms once, it will continue to produce young offshoots which will go on to bloom.
Bromeliads prefer a bright, sunny, warm room. Avoid direct hot summer sun, which may scorch leaves.
Keep the cup in the central rosette about half full of rainwater at all times; don’t completely fill it, as it may rot, especially during winter. Also, water the soil well every month or two, or whenever it’s dry. Keep on the dry side in winter.
Minimum temperature 15C.
