A beautiful tropical plant, native to the Brazilian rainforests. Calathea Medallion will brighten any room with its spectacular foliage of light and dark green patterns on the upper side of the leaf and a deep, purple underneath. As a variety of prayer plant the leaves open and close at dawn and dusk. It also has the added benefit of being a great air purifier so removes toxins. It likes medium to bright light out of direct sun and humid conditions so is ideal in a bathroom or kitchen. Alternatively, put a tray of moistened pebbles under the pot to raise humidity.
