A new twist on a classic, Chlorophytum comosum 'Ocean', is a more unusual and visually striking variety of Spider plant. It has thicker, shorter leaves with cream-coloured edges. Spider plants have many benefits, including:
*The ability to remove pollutants from the air, such as, formaldehyde, xylene, and toluene, improving the air quality in your home or office.
*Increasing humidity levels, through transpiration, which can help to alleviate respiratory issues, improve skin health, and reduce the need for humidifiers.
Care tips:
Light: Prefers a bright spot out of direct sun. Tolerates some light shade but growth may slow and it may lose its stripes.
Water: Apr-Sept, allow the top inch of soil to dry out between watering’s. Check soil weekly. Oct-Mar, top 2 inches. Check fortnightly. Spider plants are sensitive to the chemicals in tap water so ideally use rainwater or distilled water to avoid brown leaf tips. Humidity: Can tolerate drier air, but prefer higher humidity. Brown tips may indicate your plant is too dry. Could mist regularly, group plants or use a pebble tray under the pot.
