Cute as a button! The lush, deep forest green foliage of Pellaea rotundifolia, aka, Button fern really softens a space. They are native to the forest floors of New Zealand and although they love all the conditions ferns tend to, it is one of the easier varieties to care for. It makes a great houseplant as it can cope with lower moisture, humidity and temperature than other ferns.
Happiest in a medium to bright position out of direct sun. It can tolerate lower light.
You can allow up to the top third of soil to dry out between waterings. Soil should be moist not soggy. Check weekly. Rainwater is best or let tap water sit overnight.
Will thrive in a steamy bathroom or kitchen or a terrarium. However is quite tolerant of household conditions.
Safe for pets who like a nibble.
Compact and slow growing, current height is around 15cms x 20cms wide. Grows to a maximum of 30-40cms.
